Sydney Sea-Eagle Nests

Note: These are estimated home ranges from information received.

Map of Sea-Eagle nest in Sydney Basin

The information about these nests are calculated from direct observation or from sightings and information received from knowledgeable sources. At no time are we divulging the exact location of any nest, the areas shown on the map above are an estimation of the home range of a pair of Sea-Eagles.

The area shown is of the Sydney Basin, east of the Great Dividing Range to the coast of the Tasman Sea covering an area of approximately 4,000 sq. kilometres. Each home range would be greater than 75 sq. kilometres. This area may be on a river system and hence the foraging area is much less than the total area.

Any information or sightings of White-bellied Sea-Eagles in the Sydney area would be most helpful for our study.
